Bishop Sent Us To Visit A Drunk That Had A Tatoo Of A Red Swastika On His Hand

(The comments and or translations in bold blue italics are made by Lauren's mom)

I love being here. We visited a less active member this week that the Bishop wanted us to track down. He was drunk when we showed up. His yard reminds me of a more condensed version of grandpa's place before the clean up we did. There were close to a dozen broken down cars. It looks like a junk yard. He dusted off chairs and gave us water bottles. Mine was half finished. (I hope she did not drink out of it...the thought makes me gag.) He has a tattoo of a red swastika on his hand. Oh man, it was one of those situations that when got out of there and were like.... wow, that could have gone a number of bad ways, but.... we are fine! Humbling. We taught his neighbor while we were there. He may have been high on some drug. We felt safe, but we aren't going to go back without a member if we ever visit him again. (OK, I'm glad I do not know that Bishop's phone number because...) Did you do a lot of inactive work on your mission? We seem to have a ton!

I love you so much.
P.S. I gave a talk on Sunday. Bishop asked five minutes before church started. People said that I did well. I had habanero chili salsa for the first time. That's the first hot thing I have had a hard time eating since I got here. FUN STUFF!
