Hi family!
Great to hear how awesome you're vacation was Mom, Brenden, and Krysten! That rocks!!! Ha! The work is going really well. I've been transferred to Avarado Park, a suburb of Albuquerque, New Mexico, with Hermana Batchkoff who is amazing! IT WAS HARD to leave Texas. It was a huge surprise to find out that we were both leaving. Hermana O'brien is up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her companion is Hermana Jarmin, an awesome sister! Such a sweetheart! Santa Fe was my first area and I get to go on transfers there next week! OH YEAH! I GO ON EXCHANGES With Hermana Jardine next week too!!!! Yeah!!!!! I'm SO, SO, SO, SO excited!!! The Elders who were taking over our area in El Paso made it so much easier on us. They immediately called to meet who we were teaching and ask about the area and all that. I have so much respect and confidence in them. They get along great with the investigators we introduced them to.
The hardest family to leave was the one with a six year old little girl... every time we came over she would run to us and eagerly ask, "Can you PLEASE teach me more about God?" Oooooooh my word! Such a sweetheart. I have pictures I will be sending you soon. We went and cleaned a little at their place the other week. Their property has become somewhat of a junkyard. The father-in-law is a very bad hoarder. Our project was tire cleanup. He'd bring old cars to the property, take off the tires, and throw them around and whatever else for that matter. There were probably close to one hundred tires all around the place. They wanted the tires to be put in a shed that was already super full. I got in there and stacked the mess of tires so we'd have more room. It was awesome! I wish I was still going to be there to continue to help with that project. I’ll send pictures. I got some nice bruises from it ha-ha! It was one of the best workouts ever!
My new companion Hermana Batchkoff is de (translation: from) California and is suuuuuch a sweetheart. She is a great listener, very loving, serves a ton, is very happy, and is a hard worker. It's awesome. We have several of the same strengths which has been kind of been fun and also a few similar weaknesses. I’m really excited about this transfer, also her Spanish is really good. We speak Spanish almost all the time. I love this work! The obedience level seems to be much higher up here. There are some good habits that I’ve fallen out of which I am determined to not only get back into, but to keep my entire mission. The sister missionary that served here before, which I’m replacing, was a very hard worker. She is an incredible example and I’m excited to work on becoming as obedient as she is.
I continue to learn that obedience is so important. I’m coming to love it. When it has been tested by others I really have hated having to stand up for myself, but there is such a greater love for being obedient here and that has given me a greater appreciation and love for the rules. We should love and seek for correction. We should be happy for the invitation to change that it offers us. Increased obedience to the Lord and his commandments provides us with an increased love for the him. Pray to understand why we are asked to do what we are. It's awesome! Don't give up until you figure out why and don't refuse to obey until you know the reason, just do what's asked. Small course corrections will make all the difference in the world.

That's awesome that you put up a flag pole in our yard. I loved the pictures of it and that sweet car at the 4th of July Canby Fair. What a blessing the field workers did not get hurt. That's weird that they did not say or doing anything about the shooting. (Grandpa Perez, Robin, Michael, & Alexis went shooting on grandpa's property. After shooting for awhile Robin decided to use his binoculars to see the target better. To his surprise he saw field workers working in the distant background of the target and told grandpa to stop shooting.) It’ll be fun to go shooting again when I come back. I’m glad you've been able to spend more time at grandma and grandpa's...that's awesome. I wrote them a letter this week. How was father's day? You'll be happy to hear I’ve been quite the little handy man out here. I fix chairs and tables (by tightening their screws), dig ditches, help pack, fix things, fix the drain, kill bugs. Etc, etc, etc. Ha, just thought you'd like to know :)

I’m excited to hear more trip details and will keep in my prayers that you find what you lost. For the first time in the mission the food's giving me stomach problems. Weird huh? I have no idea why, but I guess it's common up here.

Y'all are great, yay for fireworks. There is a firework ban down here so while in previous years Texas has put on firework shows that were INCREDIBLE. We only saw one or two illegal fireworks from those who were willing to risk getting a $500.00 fine.

That is so tight about Especially For Youth camp. That's awesome that you got to go. I LOVE fireflies!!!! I wish we had those here. Fireflies....stuck up in that big, bluish, black thing up there.

Don't sweat gaining weight. We are often fed two or three dinners a night. Last night I almost threw up because I had eaten so much. Seriously not my favorite experience. Five pounds comes and goes. Just worry about being healthy. The weight doesn't matter a ton as long as you're healthy. I'm excited to go running with you when I get home!
"No pain, no glory!" Oscar Martinez (7yrs old). Yeah!
Thank you for your love and support family and friends. I love and pray for you daily. Keep being awesome. Take care, love you all so, so, so much.
