The Baptismal Water Was A Little Too Hot, That Was My Fault...Poor Guy

Salvador's Baptism
The baptism was awesome. The water was a little too hot he said, that was my fault.... poor guy. That has never has that been a problem before! Salvador doesn't have any family that live super close and no wife or children. None of his family came to his baptism, but several people from the ward were there, thirty or so. Yay!

We went to an aquarium here in Albuquerque today with a few of our Elders and Eric, a young guy in our ward. It was way fun. I love these missionaries. One, Elder Palomo is going home in 16 days. He's way excited for it. The other Elder Naumann was in my district down in Texas in Montana Vista. He’s from Utah and is our district leader, a really good missionary. Both are great missionaries and great friends. I love the other four elders in our district too.

So the aquarium was like the one in Oregon, except smaller. It was really hot out. We pet manta rays and bamboo sharks and I held a GIANT millipede and a roach (ha not like that was a new experience), plus there were flowers, butterflies, and jelly fish. Good preparation day. OH and there was a fantasy world where everything was big like "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids". We went inside a fake pumpkin…that kinda rocked.Hermana Jardine and I went on exchanges this week and that was sweet! I love that girl! We stayed super busy. It was great to get to teach people with her again. She says my Spanish has really improved same with my confidence. She says I’m way more relaxed. Sweet!

We had to take the car to the Toyota dealer for some recall stuff and were very friendly with people (nothing new, that's kind of part of our job) the people there were supper friendly too, it was awesome. Our driver was Ron super sweet; he took us to our dinner appointment and brought us back to the shop after we were done there. We gave him a card and he said he'd check the website out.

Theresa is someone else we are teaching, she is wonderful. Her and her family are very sweet. She was at church last week but didn't make it this week. Her husband doesn't really see the importance of church, but is very nice to us, we haven't been able to really teach him yet since we visit more in the mornings and he doesn't get home till the evening. We’re going to drop by evenings this week.

Church was awesome yesterday! Our branch president is great and is very involved with the youth and trying to strengthen them. In pec they decided we are going to be doing a seminary fireside next Sunday where we'll talk to the youth about how much seminary rocks. We’re excited about it. They also want us to go to mutual activities with them to help them out. Last mutual we went to Harry Potter... not really. That was their activity but.... ha ....doubt president would have approved it. We’ll be doing a service project this Saturday with all of them. I’m excited!

Lexie~
Answers to Lexie's questions:
  • Tracting, no we don't do a ton of it.
  • Yeah we have dinner most of the week with members. Sometimes we eat by ourselves.
  • Temperature.... it’s warm and we get some awesome lightning and rain storms. Some time the roads get a little flooded which is fun. Once we went to visit a less active in the ward and it started pouring! When we got out our car was in the middle of a huge puddle. I took my shoes off and waded through the puddle to get to the car. I want to go tracting in rain like that... we haven't had the chance yet, but I’ll let you know if we do.

Zone conference is tomorrow that should be awesome!

Keep doing good things! I love you Lex and family and friends!
Have fun with the adventures this week Krys, Bren, mom, dad, and Grandma Daily!

Love,
Hermana Perez
