It’s been a great week! Cold weather is moving in, fun! We visited Eva this morning. She expressed concern about giving up some beliefs about the Virgin Guadalupe from Alma chapter 18. It's the one about Ammon teaching King Lamoni about how the Great Spirit is God. It was one of those moments in which I was freaking out. I was praying so hard that she'd get it. She's been progressing so well and this has been one of the doubts she's really struggled with, but she has just barely told us about. My favorite moments of the mission are those times where people make connections, where the spirit teaches and we just watch the wheels turn. I LOVE THAT!!! After a long pause she said, “That's a beautiful scripture.” I'm going to keep reading it. We moved her date to the 24th of December and her daughter has accepted the invitation to be baptized on that date as well. Eva is such an inspiration, she is SO positive, humble, and very service oriented and is an excellent mother. She is excited and nervous for her baptism. We are going to have her get an interview this week, to which I know she'll pass since she's already passed it with us.
Martina's Daughters were at church yesterday!!! AND SO WERE Griselda and her kids!!! Oh my word I wish I had the time to tell you their whole stories!!!
It was stake conference this past Sunday. It was broadcast and translated into Spanish in our building. Our investigators, Martina and her family needed a ride to stake conference. Dario, the son of a member in our branch gave them a ride, which was an answer to our prayers! We found out they needed a ride the night before and from then we were desperately trying to find them one. Dario who actually goes to the singles ward agreed and picked them up in his black DODGE CHARGER which was (excuse my slang) totally "sick!" (translation: awesome!) Here’s a funny unimportant note. Our investigator's brother Juan was jealous of Dario's car, poor kid. The girls loved the ride. Finding them a ride back home was another challenge. I was calling and asking everyone no on could. We ran into this lady new to the area that came late thinking it was a regular Sunday. After talking for awhile we asked if she could by chance give the girls a ride to which she agrees. Phew!!!, miracles, miracles.
I feel very blessed to serve here! I love these people!!! Please pray for the 8 investigators we have that are preparing for their baptismal dates this month. They are Eva and her daughter Keyla, Martina and her children Brianda, Juan, and Suzy, Griselda, and Natalie.
Sorry for the short email last week. I’m trying to cram in looking into universities, which is time consuming (mission president encourages this), and emailing into a short time. Life's decisions.... GOTTA love them! We'll see where God guides me right? I have been good about not emailing other family members or friends lately so I can spend more time to write longer emails.
Thank you so much for your love and support. I love you all and hope all is well with everything in your lives!!!
