I've Been Blessed With The Gift Of Tongues While I Sleep

(The comments and or translations in bold blue italics are made by Lauren's mom)

Lauren’s e-mail to us was entitled, “I JUST GAINED 50 POUNDS THIS WEEK!!!”. Just kidding, there's something about the MTC makes me not very hungry...it’s funny. Temple this morning was awesome as usual. Well this week has been amazing! I'm studying much better than I ever did at college and I'm loving life!
The Provo Temple was awesome as usual!

At the Provo Temple with my "districto"!!
Elder Jimenez, Hermana O'brien,
Hermana Adams, Hermana Perez, & Elder Keele

Hermana Perez all smiles (:
Apparently the name "Perez" is popular in the MTC.
Meet Hermana Perez, Hermana Perez, and our Hermana Perez!!
Wow… what to tell everyone. The scriptures are incredible. I've learned so, so, so! much. Every day seriously is a spiritual feast here. My district has gotten really close, the Elders are great. My companions and I have become such great friends.  We're really close.  All of them are very focused on being good missionaries and they really want to be here. They are a very special group of people.
Hermana Obrien is super motivated to exercise and she keeps us going to the gym every day.  I run nearly the whole time.  The other day I played volleyball.... HA! that was fun. (There is more to that HA! than you know…you see our family is athletically challenged…so it is quite comical to watch any of us play sports. That means she put her pride aside and played volleyball…I’m proud of her, she is AWESOME!!) We have weights too, which has been great. They keep us super busy at the MTC. There really is not much time for anything but class, study, prayer, service, food, and sleep.
So…I guess the Lord has blessed me with the gift of tongues while I sleep. Hermana Adams tells me every time I talk in my sleep, it is in Spanish. Let’s hope the practice in my sleep is helping me retain more while I am awake. (This is hilarious… or to quote a Lauren colloquialism, “bilArious”! Lauren actually talks A LOT in her sleep. She even maintains her enthusiasm while she is sleeping. When we were in Utah I woke up to her saying… “Oh my WORD!!!”… and another time to… “bLAsT  iT! Where is the MTC?!?”).

Grandma and Grandpa~
I love you so, so, so much!!!

Aunt Lainie, Jasmin, & Allyse~
I got the pictures, poem, and letter, and I LOVED THEM!!! The picture is on my wall in my room. I've read the poem more than once while I have been here.

  1. HI! I hope this comment works. If only ALL of God's missionaries were are prepared and diligent as Hna Perez! She is ROCKIN' it ALREADY and she's not even in the field. It is so hard to give her up for 1 1/2 years. We miss her soooo much already, but there's no other place we'd rather her be. LOVE YOU LAH-WEN!
