Ha! no I’m not laying in the hospital :) I’m doing great. I was helping clean the temple on Monday so we have like a half preparation day today. SORRY, I didn't let you know last week. Don't worry mommy mom. I’m doing really well! The temple yesterday was incredible! We also had the opportunity to clean the temple on Saturday, which was great too. When we cleaned the temple we got to see a few extra things. We walked around under the baptismal font with the oxen, we saw the bridal room, and we saw the youth room where kids wait to get sealed to their family. The temple President talked about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Sin is spiritual death. A removal of the love of God. He said even the most wicked of people still have a portion of this love within them. When Christ suffered for our sins the Love of God was completely removed from him. Pain caused by unrepentant sin is the only pain that will last beyond this life. It's the only pain we should really fear.
I was in this kind of emotionally low phase, but I have finally come out of it. We had to drop most of our investigators or they dropped us so we've been starting fresh.
We've done a lot of tracting this week and we have found several new people we are going to start teaching. We are excited about the ways in which God has guided us to people who have been willing for us to visit with them.
One person we found knocking doors was Navidad. She is a neighbor of a member. She has gone to a lot of different churches and has become so confused by all of it that she'd decided, it’s just better to read the bible and follow God in her way. It was funny, when she answered the door we started out, "We are representatives of Jesus Christ and He has sent us here to leave a blessing of peace on your home".... at that point she comes outside and gives us both hugs saying, "Oh thank you, thank you with the attitude of, Oh these girls are cute, but I really don't care.... After talking to her awhile about religion she started opening up about some of the things she was going through. I shared a scripture with her and started getting a little emotional as I talked to her about how much God loves her. Her attitude slowly changed as the door step conversation progressed. She genuinely thanked us when we left. It was a great experience for both Sister Furman and I. We are going to stop by Thursday before dinner. Hopefully she will be receptive to what we have to share.
Hugo, the investigator that was in love with me, is being taught by the Elders now. He seems to be continuing to progress, although he wasn't at church Sunday.
My birthday was incredible! I LOVED the package the family sent me. Thank you so, so, so much! Hermana Furman took some videos on my camera of opening presents and running through the streamers you sent me, like we do at home. Hermana Furman put the streamers up. She was so, so, so good to me. Ha! She texted almost everyone in the branch, while I wasn't paying attention, telling them it was my birthday. I got some beautiful necklaces, earrings, a purse, and several cards from people. People in this ward are great. Including the cake mix with candles you sent me, I had 3 birthday cakes on my birthday.
