I Loved Conference! Guess What? Javier Misiago Lives in Our Branch!

Remember Estrella, my first baptism in Santa Fe? She is living in Utah now with her family. I guess I never gave you the follow up story I don't think... well here it is! Nery and Amarilis if you remember had been investigating the church for a few years and when I got there we started teaching their daughters Estrella and Bianca. Estrella was baptized when I was there. She got a blessing that said that through her example and influence she would be able to help her family be baptized. Well... you won't believe the miracles that have occurred in their lives the last several months. Bianca was baptized earlier this year and just a few months ago Nery was baptized while Amarilis was in Brazil on vacation. When Amarilis got home they got married. She was baptized very soon after. Two of their other children Heber and Angela have been investigating the church and also are working on being baptized. I can't wait to give you all the details this is a very watered down version of the story, but their story is a testimony to me that the gospel works miracles in the lives of those who accept it!!!

My companion and I are enjoying spending time together! She's awesome, we discovered a few new CDs that we're enjoying listening to. She is very humble and teachable. She is a great example to me. HA! We both had dreams about each other last night. I had a dream that we got a huge pick up that she starting driving. I kept telling her, okay be careful, not so sharp, slow down. Much like I do now in the car we're driving, hahaha. She dreamed that I left her. When we woke up she says to me, I had the WORST nightmare!!! I had a dream that you had to leave me!!! Oh man... how’s that for companion unity. We spend all day together and at night we are in each others dreams, ha!

We are learning so much here in this area. We are going to be starting to go to Addiction Recovery Program (ARP) meetings with an investigator who is an alcoholic. The poor lady has had several deaths in her family over the last few years and has really struggled. She has had other drug problems in the past, but has quit those. We are lucky to have a member in our ward that has experience with substance abuse and detoxing.

It has been an incredible week and we have been very blessed. I am so grateful for all we are learning! One thing I’ve learned that’s stood out is that “damnation” means willingly choosing not to progress. That is what hell is, not learning or growing by Choice! How dumb to choose to be damned. Let’s not do that okay? Sin=damnation, righteousness=eternal progression.

I loved conference, it was awesome as usual! We watched one session at the church in Spanish and the other sessions in member’s homes that we know. Most of the members in our branch were in Utah for the weekend watching it live. From what I hear they've had a great time! The Women’s General Session of Conference was great too! I loved the talk from Silvia Allred. Oh, and I also liked the one Elder Uchtdorf gave about the flowers, “No Me Olvidas” (translation: “Forget Me Not”). Good talks!
General conference happens twice a year, in October and in April. Our prophet, apostles, and other church leaders speak to us on topics they feel inspired to address. I am grateful that God still speaks to his children through a modern day prophet. To watch or listen to General Conference click on the following link.

I'm excited to see homecoming pictures! Yeah, Brenden, that was a fun idea you used to ask your date to homecoming! Glad you had a great time with Dad, Uncle Tim, and cousin Jared at Priesthood session.

HEY! speaking of priesthood session!!! Javier Misiago... the missionary from Spain that President Eyring spoke about in his talk, who served here in Arizona and met the missionary who baptized his dad is in our branch! He and his wife are AMAZING!!! She served in New York and has come out with us a few times. They just moved here about a month ago. He works as a news anchor for a Spanish news station. She was a voice teacher and theater major I think. They are great people. It was fun to hear that he was mentioned. We went to their home for lunch and they showed us a few talks from priesthood, Elder Holland’s talk was awesome!

Krys ~
Lil KRYS!!!! don't be sick anymore!!!! You're in my prayers lil Krys!!! Hopefully it’s not anything crazy you have.

Congrats on the statistics class mommy mom! Way to go! That’s great that you and dad are enjoying spending time together and growing so close. I’m happy for you.

I love you family and friends keep doing good things and progressing!
