A General Authority is Coming to Our Mission!

The comments and or translations in bold, blue, italics are made by Lauren's mom.
This week has been very, very, good. We are learning lots and growing.... so it’s been a great week. We have a general authority coming to the mission this week which we are very excited about! Elder Pier G. Malm, he's an amazing speaker, he spoke in the MTC too! We have interviews with President this week too; it’s going to be a great week.
Elder Malm's visit Albuquerque Zone
Martina and her daughter have baptismal dates. They were referrals from the English Elders. Her 8 year old daughter is awesome! She gets so excited when we come over to talk with her about God. I LOVE KIDS!!!

Hermana Furman and I played hide and seek the other day, it was fun. We moved our beds around and cleaned a lot today. We are finding tons of cockroaches it's crazy! We’ve got bug spray and "we've been going to town" with it.

I'm learning to rely more on the Lord and follow his direction more. My companion felt prompted to visit a less active family who I really haven't wanted to visit at all... every time we went one they were kind of stand offish or drinking and it was just not a super fun place to be. I’m never one to shot down inspiration of companions so we dropped by and had a very nice visit with her. She talked about how she wants her sons to serve missions and about the temp job she has. It was nice to see her like that and helped me to see her differently. I have so much to learn! I thank heavenly father every night for the charitable companion she has blessed me with.

My companion is so sweet. I was irritated for something the other day and Sister Furman, being the perceptive person she is, started asking me what was wrong. To which I responded, "I don't want to talk about it... I’ll get over it." A slowly diminishing, but typical response for me. Right when we got to the apartment of the people we were going to visit, she asks again, "What's wrong?" She starts to cry and says through her tears, "It’s that I just love you so much, you’re my sister." Through gritted teeth she says in a soft voice, "And when you are angry, it makes me angry." Ha, I’m tearing up as I tell you this, MAN! After she said that, I had to open up and talk to her about my frustrations. She hugged me and kissed my forehead (She's one of those touch love language people.... I’ve had to learn to be okay with it.) I can't describe to you the incredible example of charity and love she is to me. I am excited for you to meet her. She is amazing!

We went bowling today (p-day), I got a strike!!! A gutter ball... my bowling skills have never been amazing. It’s funny that I seem to get at least one strike and a lot of gutter balls every game.

I got asked out to the movies by a male investigator.... Who is no longer our investigator...  I think it’s time to get my hair cut again!

We are doing exchanges again today. Hopefully this week isn't as adventurous as last week.  :)  Hermana Henderson is going to be with me on this exchange. She is a new missionary from New York. She's awesome! I got to see Sister Batchoff too, love that girl... Heavenly Father has blessed our mission to have every Spanish Sister Missionary be amazing!
Having Fun Between Exchanges
I love you family!!!
Hermana Perez
PS We're feeling good from the car accident, nothing too serious. I lost an ear.... that's probably one of the reasons I was given two of them!
PSS Mom... I was joking about losing an ear... I love you!!!
