THIS WEEEEEEEEEEK!!!! We had an INCREBILE lesson with Eva where we talked about the temple and told her that the temple was our goal for her and her family. As we talked about it she said she wanted to be baptized and knew the book of Mormon was true because she can just feel it. I LOVE HEARING THINGS LIKE THAT!!!! She came to the church with a few of her kids. Hermana Perez in our branch has been a great example to her and has really helped her out. Eva is the one that always energizes us when we visit her. I know with her it is only a matter of time. She is really hoping to have her whole family join the church together.
I have a testimony that staying positive and looking for blessings that have come as we are going through trials helps us overcome challenges. There have been a few things I have struggled with that I’ve tried to have a "I just need to get over it attitude," but we need to give ourselves time to heal. I was talking to a sister who got bit by a dog early in her mission. She tried to push herself and ignore the injury which just made it worse. We must give ourselves time to hurt and heal when things harm us physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Avoiding pain is good, but not always possible. We are not weak because we have emotions. With any trial we face in this life there is a strengthening process that will occur. IF we look to our Savior to help us overcome what we are called to face, the learning that will take place will dramatically increase. I have had a hard time asking for blessings pretty much for forever, but I have seen so many blessings brought into my life because of my trials. Priesthood blessings are words of comfort and direction from our Father in Heaven. I’m so grateful for the Restoration of the Priesthood.
Mom ~
I don't think I ever told you this, but I told my first baptisms about you’re conversion and how you were the only one in your family who got baptized. The night I shared that with her she stayed up all night thinking about it and decided after hearing your story that she could do it even if she was the only one in her family that got baptized. YOU ARE AMAZING!!!
Pyper Family ~
I got a Halloween care package from the Pyper family. Please tell them I say thank you!!! It was fun to receive the great pictures the kids colored, the candy was very yummy, and the socks came at a perfect time, its getting chilly at night!
Sister Falardeau ~
I got a letter from Sister Falardeau this week too that was very sweet. Tell her thank you. I also love the ward updates!
You all are great! Thanks for your love and support!!! Keep swimming :)
