We Had Quite The Adventure Last Saturday

Sister Perez and Sister Cole On A
Hiking Excursion With Their District
Our district had a wonderful time hiking today (p-day)! It was great to be able to do that again. I didn't realize how much I’ve missed going on hikes!

We also had quite the adventure last Saturday. We attended a baptism the Elders in our branch had that day. Their baptism (Marta) and her family arrived a half an hour late to her baptism. Marta had an accident just before leaving for the baptism and had 2nd degree burns on her arms. The branch rushed to her aid, people went to the store to get things to help her out. An hour and a half later the baptism started. In the meantime we kept ourselves busy entertaining the kids in the gym with duck-duck goose, tag, red light green light. Some of the parents even joined in at some point. The service was beautiful and the family was there on Sunday. Despite her burns Marta was in very good spirits.

As far as the blessing I received last week goes, I haven't always had a strong testimony of asking for priesthood blessings. It’s been something I’ve really had to work hard on. There was a time on my mission that I was very hesitant to ask for a blessing, but Heavenly Father has helped me A LOT through the priesthood blessings I have received.

We are continuing to make progress here in Alvarado Park and working our best to get over those speed bumps. MAN! Satan sure loves trying to throw us off. Griselda's kids were scheduled to get baptized this weekend, but we'll probably be setting a new baptismal date. They weren't able to make it to church this week because Peter, the youngest was sick.

A few of the less active families we have been visiting showed up to church which was great!!! It’s exciting to see people making changes in their lives.

The scriptures are such a huge blessing in my life. I have found so much peace and comfort from searching them.

I love you so much family! Thanks for your prayers and support. Please keep making good choices. I love you!!!

Hermana Perez
