I Am Being Transferred To Montana Vista In El Paso, Texas!

The comments and or translations are from Lauren's mom. Thanks for all the family news! I'm so happy things are going great for you all. This wedding stuff sounds exciting!!!! I DO NOT envy all the shopping and decoration stuff that ya'll are doing. but.... HAVE FUN!!!

I have learned and grown SO MUCH this transfer. Sister Knight leaves tomorrow afternoon. I am being transferred to Montana Vista in El Paso, Texas with Hernana Gomez! She's fluent! I'm pumped, she sounds amazing. I've met her a few times. She is SUCH a sweetheart! Its really hard to be leaving Socorro we've got some amazing investigators that are going to be getting baptized with in the next few months. I'd love to keep teaching them and see them be baptized, but I’m so happy I’ve been able to be a part of their lives for as long as i have.
One of our investigators named Alex (15 yrs old). AWESOME! awesome kid. He and his brother Luis (19yrs old) live pretty much by themselves. Their dad is a truck driver and is hardly ever home. Mom and dad divorced and mom doesn't visit often cause the boys don't get along with their step dad. Alex is such a quiet kid. But is amazing! He went on a 8 mile hike with the scouts last Saturday and was at church Sunday. There are already a ton of people there who love him. I'm really happy he is so well connected to the ward already.

Having fun taking pictures at
one of our district meetings.

We have fun loving Elders.
Oh, did I tell you that the Elders get our old area. Ha, ha. It'll be good for them. They're way bummed we aren't teaching any "hot girls." THANK HEAVENS we weren't. They've got some amazingly solid investigators. They're way lucky! I'm confident they'll be great for them also. They're good with kids. Jair (10 yrs old) and AJ (9yrs old) will really like them I think. They already met Alex which is awesome. LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY!!! OH MY WORD. I’m not jealous. I'm way excited for Montana Vista though, pero (translation: but)...ohhhhh...my heart. They'll be fine.

We had an incredible lesson with Jair this week about Jesus Christ. We explained the Atonement in a little more detail and his response almost made me cry. He was so grateful and felt so sad for Jesus. I love teaching children. Their way of looking at the world is so beautiful. I'm so humbled by their humility and love. I LOVE THAT KID!

AJ is awesome. We brought the Bush family to help us teach him. She brought her 2 sons who are 9 years old as well. They were incredible! They bore such strong testimonies. I was so happy to have them there. Ha, AJ said something hilarious during the 1st vision movie. We got to the sacred grove part and he looks at me with wide eyes and says, "MY DAD AND I HAVE GOT TO GO THERE!!!" We have to go hunting and fishing there, it would be awesome! Ha, that's the first time I'd heard that before. I LOVE KIDS!

I love you all so much. Keep progressing. Keep trying you're best to be better and most importantly enjoy the journey. There is so much to be grateful for.

I know that our Savior lives. I know that it is through him that we can be made clean and become more like him every day of our lives. We are children of God.

Have an amazing week. Congratulations Lex!

Love,
Hermana Perez
